Do you want security in owning your own beef? We offer half and whole sides of Nebraska born and raised beef. We finish our beef on a 120-150 day organic corn and hay ration. Our beef is processed through our local meat lockers with prearranged appointments. We deliver the beef to the locker and you can pick it up at your convenience. Our mission is to provide people with the opportunity to have access to the basic staples of our diet. We offer to the consumer, locally raised and grown organically finished market beef. The commercialization of these sectors by large corporations has resulted in many products being offered that often fail to deliver what the consumer is after.
Our pledge is to only deliver a pure product as advertised. We raise Nebraska born and raised market beef, finished on a 120-150 day organic feed ration. Everything from the cattle to all the grains are raised right here in northeast Nebraska. We offer to for sale half and whole sides of beef. We have local locker appointments in Osmond, Fordyce and Wausa, Nebraska. We have limited supply. Our cattle are hormone free and under two years of age. I have been a farmer all of my life except for the four years I served my country in the USMC from 1993-1997. I married my high school sweetheart and returned to farming in 1997 in Wausa, NE. In 2006 we started a 40 head cow herd and in 2015 started raising organic grains. We have four living children. Ages 12-23. We are a true family farm operation.
Our goal is to provide high quality Nebraska born and raised beef. Meat labeling in the common market does not give all the information you need to make an informed choice. USDA certified just means it was inspected and packaged in the US. It can originate in Canada, Mexico, or South America, where the sanitary standards and high-quality feeding requirements are not on par with the United States. You, the consumer, have no way of knowing the true origin of the product.
We hope to fill the need for consumers who want to purchase a ¼, ½ or whole beef and have it processed as they wish. We use our local USDA inspected locker, which has a reputation that can’t be beat. They are usually booked a year in advanced. We would love to talk to you about our product and how it can meet the needs of your family.
We use organic corn and hay to finish the cattle. The calves are weaned at 6 months. They are fed a growing ration while they graze on our farms pasture. Once they are grown to their full size, we put them on a strict certified organic corn and hay diet for 120-150 days. The last 120-day period is called the finishing phase, where the animal puts on additional weight and gives marbling to the beef. The marbling is the time when the oleic acid is produced in the fat. The oleic acid is classified as a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid, aka- healthy fat. The marbling is also where the flavor of beef comes from. We know many consumers are concerned about GMO’s, hormones, and chemicals. That is why these cattle are only finished on an organic ration with no hormones used.
One of the many benefits of having your own beef, is that the cattle go straight from the farm to the lockers, (a 6-mile trip) there is no stress on them, which keeps the meat even that more tender. The buyer also will get to pick all the cuts of the meat they prefer.
