Soup & Sourdough

TapRoots—adult-focused workshops inspired by food, nature, art, and health.

Our TapRoots programming has been such a big hit this season! The first Soup & Sourdough workshop sold out before we even had the chance to advertise it — so we’re thrilled to offer another session on Saturday, November 15th.

Here’s what to expect:
Doors open at 2:00 p.m. if you’d like to visit, shop The StoreFront, or wander the farm before class begins. The workshop will start at 3:00 p.m. and run about 2 to 2½ hours. We’ll meet in The StoreFront at Pfanny’s Farm (just 2.5 miles north of the Hwy 81/20 junction near Randolph, NE) and move between there and our certified kitchen for different parts of the session.

About the Workshop:
Local baker Margaret Svitak will guide you through a relaxed, hands-on introduction to sourdough. Don’t let all the “rules” you’ve heard intimidate you — sourdough is simpler (and more fun!) than you might think. You’ll take home your very own starter, along with clear instructions and the confidence to begin your own breadmaking journey.  It might get a little messy, so feel free to bring an apron if you’d like.

We’ll wrap up the afternoon with samples — and of course, there’s no better pairing for fresh bread than homemade soup!

Registration Details:
Spots are limited to just 10 participants.
Pre-registration with payment is required to hold your place. You can pay via Venmo — I’ll include that information below for convenience.

Cost: $40 per person
(includes the soup & sourdough meal)

We can’t wait to share another cozy, hands-on afternoon with you at the farm!

Please note, registration fees are not refundable, but if it is necessary, you can gift your place at the table to a friend, just let us know.
Contact Julie via email or text @ 402.360.4064 to reserve your spot.
Feel free to contact us with any questions.
